Roads

Berlin Township’s Road Department currently maintains 42 miles of roads in the township, which consists of snow removal, road repairs, storm water drainage, signage, tree trimming, emergency call outs for fallen trees/damaged signs, roadside mowing, driveway construction inspections, drainage culvert inspections and repairs, and maintaining township buildings including three cemeteries covering approximately 30 acres, two of which are active.

The department is also responsible for the opening and closing of all graves and installation of headstone foundations.

In Berlin Township there are different classifications for roads, townships roads, county roads, state routes, and U.S. routes.  The township only has jurisdiction or the ability to do work within the right of way of a township road.
